I have succesfully navigated another week of not working at all. Well, I taught two trumpet lessons, and did a bit of housework, but the days are definitely dragging on. Summer vacation started two months ago. Hopefully, the symphony will be doing a Fourth of July concert this year, even if it is pre-recorded and broadcast rather than done live. I just want to go to work and do what I do.
Anyway! I hope y’all have a good weekend. Got any big plans? It’s starting to get hot and dry here, will be 104 on Tuesday. So we’ll probably just hang inside and chill.
This photo reminds me of our family trip to Denmark in the early 90s. I drank a LOT of Tuborg, and enjoyed every drop of it. Can’t seem to find it around here, though. So I remain thirsty....

So lots of time for your second job as a drywall guy then?

Yeah, that’s pretty slow going, too.

It's supposed to rain all weekend, so I'm going to only go out for groceries and a haircut. Should be relaxing.

As long as that’s the before pic and not the after, there is still hope.

It’s about to get real over here. I have to jump on the mower this evening so I don’t have to worry about it tomorrow. Tomorrow I have to get the last anchor in so the storage building doesn’t blow away when the tropical storm arrives Sunday. I also need to secure other belongings in the yard: stow the grill , put away patio furniture, etc. If I manage to get all that done, I need to finish up my wife’s birthday gift. She asked for a custom painting easel that mounts on a tripod. It’s a modified version of this:
The wood is cut to size, but I have to get the hinges mounted, drill holes for and secure the magnets, install the nut for the tripod mount, make pencil/brush holder, make the diffuser mount, and get the whole thing stained, sealed and waterproofed. Saturday will be a busy day. Hopefully, Sunday will be a day for sitting in the house and listening to it rain.

I was hoping some of that rain would come our way. With the storm staying east, it just means that it will be hotter than hell here. Average for this time of year is 90.

A friend of mine lives in New Braunfels. He was exaggerating when he said it was going to be 107, but he wasn’t exaggerating by much!

He’s south of us, so it could easily be a couple degrees hotter.
